About Us

The Society was formed in January 2011 and exists to collect, research and study information concerning the history of Prestbury, and to stimulate public interest in, and appreciation of, our local history.

Meetings are normally held on the fourth Monday evening of each month except July, August and December, at the Prestbury WI Hall unless otherwise specified. Please see the Meetings page for details of our current schedule of events and talks.

We are always pleased to welcome new members and visitors. Members pay an annual subscription of £10 and guests £2.00 for the event attended. Please see the Membership page for details.

Resources: We have several publications produced by our members on various aspects of Prestbury’s history. These can be downloaded from the Publications page. We are also developing an Archive of local materials which will be available to researchers. The PLHS Archive is held at Prestbury Library and we’d love to hear from you if you have any photos, letters or other materials relating to Prestbury.

Would you like to try some research? We would be pleased to help you get started, no previous experience necessary. Please see our Research page for ideas and guidelines.

If you have any questions or comments please contact us at prestburyhistory@gmail.com
