We are pleased to offer a new local history booklet, which has been researched and written by our chairman Tony Noel, telling the story of the Prestbury Post. Members of the the Sumption family have run the village postal service for more than 140 years, a significant service to the local community and a noteworthy part in our local history. Many in the village will be aware that Prestbury Post Office has recently closed its doors and its future remains uncertain.
Copies are available from Prestbury Library or can be purchased at our talks and meetings. Cost £3.00.
Please be aware there is a change of venue for our April meeting. The presentation has been moved to the Village Hall in Bouncers Lane due to essential maintenance at the W.I. Hall.
Please join us for a talk by local history author and researcher Norman Baker at 7:30pm on Monday 23rd April.
Please have a look at our Meetings & Events page to see details of next year’s talks, events and walks.

The subject for the meeting will be the history of Prestbury School. This will take you on a journey back to 1702 with founding of the first church school in the parish and through the centuries, telling the story of how the school has developed into the establishment we know and love today.
The presentation will be followed by tea & coffee and there will be an opportunity to share your own memories and photos of the school.
