    Good Evening

My relative was Hilda Bruce Seabrooke, Born in 1884 and died in 1931.

Over the years, I found out that she helped in the foundation of the WI in Prestbury, where your meetings are held.

The WI hall has been closed whenever I have been in your area. I live in Guernsey, and you can understand that I only get to the UK sometimes. Would anybody with an iPhone at your meeting take a picture of the Plaque in the WI hall and send me a photo, please? This would be very much appreciated.

    My email is martynseabrook@hotmail.com

    Many thanks Martyn Seabrook

    • Hi Martyn Thankyou for your email and sorry for delay replying but I have been out of the country. The plaque for Hilda is in the W I Hall but has been temporarily taken down as there has been quite a lot of work recently for renovation and a new central heating system. I will try to find the plaque tomorrow when I will be in the Hall and as far as I know there are plans to re hang the various plaques and pictures. I am a member of both the local history society and the W I and this coming year 2025 we will be celebrating 100 years since the opening of the Hall. I will be giving a talk about “The ladies who built the Hall” at the history society and the W I is hosting a special afternoon tea to celebrate. I you have any photos of Hilda or Sir James Seabrook I would be very grateful if I could use them, Regards Val
